THERE ARE MANY WAYS THE DOGS NEED YOUR HELP.

Volunteer hours are available in the morning 8am-12pm and afternoon 2pm-5pm 7 days a week. 

We’d love for you to come by and spend time with the animals.

Adoption Events & Fundraisers

Adoption events are a great way to get dogs out of the shelter and into the community. 

Usually held at Pet Supermarket. We showcase a few of our special dogs ready for a New Life. 

Fundraisers are critical to our mission. Join us at a “give back night”. 

Local resturants give us the opportunity to set up a display table showcasing what we do. Additionally they give a portion of the event ticket sales to Nala’s. 

At The Ranch

The dogs need our love every day.

Many shifts are available during the day and in the afternoon. 

You will bond with each resident while feeding, walking and playing with the dogs. 

Sign up for an hour or more. The dogs and other volunteers are grateful for your help. 

Foster

Some of our animals feel more comfortable in a home environment. We supply our foster volunteers with food for the animal, and ask that you provide the necessary care and attention.

    • Congratulations to Frankie and Sissy on their adoptions! We would like to thank everyone who applied for them but we really wanted to keep this sweet brother and sister together. They were rescued from Okeechobee Animal Control and all they had was each other. Many thanks to our great foster mom Tammie and her family who cared for Frankie and Sissy until we found the prefect forever home. And we are thankful for Mary and Michael for adopting both and welcoming them into their home. We wish them a lifetime of happiness!

    • Congratulations to Hershey (on the left) on his adoption! Hershey was one of the most neglected dogs we have ever rescued. Barbi was at Okeechobee Animal Control choosing dogs to go on our transport to Chicago and there was Hershey. He was barely able to walk and completely starved with very little hair. The manager said he had been going down hill every day and basically could not get up. Nala’s New Life Rescue took him immediately to the vet and we found out among other things that he had been probably been hit by a car and both back legs were injured. With the help of our generous followers, Nala's was able to raise money for his surgery. He has come such a long way and is now comfortable and happy. Thanks to Dr. Padrone and Dr. Latimer for their expert surgery and to Dr. Mary Bressman for finding the solution to keep him comfortable. After his surgery we put a plea out for a foster to get Hershey in a home. A year later and much love and patience, Kara and James have decided to adopt Hershey. They are moving back to their hometown in Texas and Hershey will be going with them along with their dog Trooper, who is now best friends with Hershey. Their dedication to Hershey during his recovery has been unwavering and we wish Hershey and his new family a lifetime of happiness! #Nalasrescue #happynalastails #dreamcomestrue
