Congratulations to Stanley on his adoption! This sweet boy was waiting months for rescue at Okeechobee Animal Control because he was heartworm positive. Very few rescues will take heartworm-positive dogs due to the expense and length of the painful heartworm treatment the dogs need to endure. Nala’s specializes in saving and treating heartworm-positive dogs like Stanley. He was being fostered by a family who currently fosters a senior dog for Nala’s and by the time Stanley finished his months of treatment, they had decided to adopt him. We are happy that he does not have to move around again and can stay with the people he knows and our senior dog they already foster. Many thanks to foster mom Barb and her family for taking great care of Stanley and we wish them years of happiness.
